Overview: Hop on the Peru Railway for a relaxing and scenic journey from Cuzco all the way to Aguas Calientes where you will have plenty of time to enjoy this quaint mountain town and stretch your legs by walking to Mandor Waterfall or Putucusi Mountain followed by a relaxing dip in the spacious hot springs.  The famous Inca citadel and "lost city" awaits you just up the hill from Aguas Calientes where a day of exploration with an English speaking guide will certainly be one of the most unforgettable experiences of your trip.

trek Day 1: Hostel pick-up and transfer to Ollantaytambo for the journey to Aguas Calientes by train.  Wander through the quaint town of Aguas Calientes and have a fulfilling lunch at a touristic restaurant, then take a 1.5-hour round trip walk up to the Mandor Waterfalls (*Optional 3.5-hour round trip walk to Putucusi Mountain) and the chance to take a dip in the hot springs before a typical dinner at a local restaurant.

trek Day 2: An early morning transfer to Machu Picchu will give us time to visit the archaeological site with an English speaking guide (approximately 2.5 hours) followed by free time to explore the hidden corners of this ancient Inca city with the option of climbing Wayna Picchu or walking to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) for panoramic views of the site.  Return to Aguas Calientes by bus for an enjoyable lunch and then take the return train back to Ollantaytambo, bus to Cuzco and hotel drop off.
